Great cutter, very reliable.
I wrote this in May of 2018. It’s now February 2021 and this cutter has not only cut at least a couple of cigars a day (sometimes a dozen or more when friends come over) but it has been outside at least 50% of the time including during the rainy season here in AZ. After 2.5 years, it is as sharp as ever and there is no rust at all despite having been left in the rain for many days. As my previous review below, which spoke to how durable the two-cut model was, I can now say that this 4 cut model is even better. I’d give this 6 stars if I could.Original follows:I’ve been looking for this for a long time. I bought 3 a few years back, as gifts for friends, and bought myself the two cut model which used a plunger to make the cut as opposed to the lever handle on this model. I think they stopped producing because they were impossible to find. Was glad to see this on Amazon and now have the 4, as well as the 2, cut. My 2 cut model has been left outside for years (I can only smoke outside) and other than a little oil now and then to help the plunger, it is still in great shape and sharp. My friends who use this model, including a cigar shop, are still using it after many years with no issues.

Good quality table-top cutter with some drawbacks
This is a good quality cigar cutter that clips and v-cuts standard sized cigars. It looks great on my table and performs the job almost perfectly. It’s not perfect though – when v-cutting using the 60 ring gauge cutter, the blade catches on the main housing. The v-cut is completed properly, but this takes away the psychological satisfaction that gives the feeling that the cut is complete. When articulating the cutter without a cigar in place, it does not catch. This is a quality issue that should be resolved in engineering, but I see the problem is reported in many reviews going back quite some time. I guess the manufacturer doesn’t care. For that reason, I’m deducting one star.The other thing that caught me off guard is that the product name etched into the base differs from the name of the product manufacturer. When I unboxed this and saw “Designed and Patented by Firsthand Int’l., Inc. 2005. New York, NY” etched on the base instead of The Big Easy Tobacco Co., I thought I might have a counterfeit item. I looked through other review with pictures on this site and elsewhere, and they all have the same etching, so I’m going to conclude that it’s correct.Bottom line – this is a good table-top cigar cutter that will look great with your tools of the trade. Buy it!

What can I say this is the ultimate cigar cutter! Really cool to look at and use. Very impressive when cutting a friend’s cigar. If yiu have the space and display your cigars its a very cool cutter to show off.
